Last night we kicked off our first Hatch event hosted by Southlands Church @ The Gallery ( http://www.southlands.net/). This is our new venue in Brea, where we've included a creative space for events such as last night's. We featured select paintings, photographs, and mixed media pieces, and listened to some wonderful in house poets. Artwork will be displayed until June 28-- and several pieces are for sale! A few weeks ago I went to the opening of my friend Jin's new sewing studio/specialty boutique, Common Thread. My reaction, in one word::: INSPIRING. Her new place offers sewing workshops, open studio time for creating your own designs, silkscreen printing, and her boutique offers a lovely variety of specialty handmade jewelry, unique fashion books, journals, and great sewing starters!
