Inspiration Nation...

in·spire : [in-spahyuhr]
to fill with an animating, quickening, or exalting influence; to enliven.

I've always found inspiration to come quite easily, naturally, most of the time in something that I see or feel as opposed to a specific concept or idea. I've been having lots of fun (truly, animating and enlivening!) gathering inspirational images during this branding/launching process of my business. It is so empowering to have an opportunity to create an entire mood, experience, feel, in a realm of photography that can easily be so plastic and boring. One of my hesitations about getting into photography business was that I would lose the ability and the chance to originally create. Not one bit, folks! I've been so happily surprised at the amount of dreaming, visual researching, and creating that has already taken place in the early beginnings of this process!

These are some of my fav's from my most recent inspiration files. I am way stoked to have my friend Megan at Mae Mae Paperie designing my logos, which will be essential to my up-and-coming-website.

Be inspired, and enjoy! (Oh, and click on the colored words for your linking pleasure).

1. I love the calligraphy in this image. I am a hard-core doodler, and have an embarrassing love for penmanship. Honestly, I find pleasure in jotting things down, choosing the right inky pens, writing letters instead of friendly emails, and am always slightly flattered when people like my handwriting...Nerdy/weird? :)

2. Quirky and classy; silhouettes are great when done right.

3. Isn't this brilliant?! I wish it were my photo! This is the exact feel, mood, & experience I want people to have when they visit my website (almost done!), and work with me personally. It is perfectly whimsical, beautiful, light, airy, and slightly strange. Did you see the monkey slippers?

4. Again, organic doodles are the best.

5. Colors! I am really feelin' the traditionally-pretty-springy-colors-made-muted-and-dirty. Yes, yes, please

What inspires you?
